Are you aware :: stress is good for us?
I know what you are likely thinking, but hang with me - let’s reframe our (negative) perception of stress.
In a physical sense, when we stress our muscles - we essentially tear them apart yet they build back stronger through this process.
When stressing our muscles, it even strengthens the synaptic circuits in our brains (new ones form, they get thicker!!) - allowing us to face other challenges in healthier ways, think :: less fight or flight and more at ease.
Even without stressing our physical bodies, similarly - when we experience life stress it allows us to grow, learn, develop ourselves - building us stronger.
Key component :: recovery.
We must allow ourselves to recover from life imposed stress.
Introducing ritualized practice for recovery (disconnecting from devices, deep breathing, human connection, a day off … you get the gist) replenishes our reserves, stimulating healthy self growth.
