Are you aware :: what the (3) things to be mindful of to realize we’re in the depth of burnout?

(1) Exhaustion

This can bubble up both physically and/or emotionally; it is a slow drip, so don’t expect to be aware of it right away.

(2) Doubt / Cynicism / Imposter

However you conceive it, but essentially our thoughts persuading us - nothing we do will make a difference.

(3) Disconnection

This also happens over time, feeling alone - yet we don’t have the energy to socialize.

Both the scary and beautiful thing about our body and mind is that we’re resilient - but if we’re not careful, our coping mechanisms are primarily subconscious.

Think ::

  • Consistently increasing our caffeine intake

(because we feel we can’t physically or mentally keep up without it)

  • Consistently consuming a pain reliever

(because we have a nuance of consistent headaches or body aches)

  • Distancing ourselves

(because we just can’t with humans)

If none of these necessarily register, following are a few more behaviors triggering we’re experiencing burnout ::

  • Fatigue; even after time off

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Reaction to others

  • Procrastination

  • Forgetfulness

  • Apathy

Nerd tip :: our nervous system uses nerve cells called neurons to send signals or messages throughout our bodies.

Our body is in constant communication with our brains, a sophisticated and unique language.

So, what’s the solution to prevent burnout?

In short, assess our energy … there’s so much power in slowing down.

Listening for the above queues.

Understanding + absorbing what is draining us vs. what truly gives us life.

Being more self-aware is crucial to identify when we’re feeling off … and potentially entering a phase of burnout.
